How to get there?

Continue west along Hindmarsh Drive and take the 4th road left into Melrose Drive, first right into Eggleston Crescent and left into Charteris Crescent and left into Gledden Street. The sign is at the southern point near the cycle path.

From the Visitors Centre continue south across Commonwealth Bridge. Take Capital Circle around Parliament House. Turn right at the large roundabout onto Melrose Drive. Continue across Hindmarsh Drive and turn first right into Eggleston Crescent. Turn left into Charteris Crescent and left into Gledden Street.

Why is this interesting?

The last remaining portion of the original Long Gully Road can be seen behind the sign. Look for the small gravel stretch between the majestic gum trees.

Long Gully Road was once one of two important roads for the Woden Valley farming community, running from the Cooma Road to the Cotter Road.

Today, the only part of the Road that is still used is the short stretch from the bottom of Yamba Drive to Mugga Lane.
